You’ve Been Given the Kingdom: Now Walk in It
2 min read

What if you already owned something incredibly powerful—but didn’t realize it? That’s exactly what many believers are experiencing when it comes to the Kingdom of God. This week’s message from Christ Church International Ministry reminds us that Heaven on Earth is not just an idea—it’s a divine inheritance we’re meant to walk in.
It Begins with a Prayer, But It Doesn’t Stop There
The teaching centered around Luke 11:1-2, where Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray:
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
This isn't just a religious recitation—it’s a radical declaration. We’re not waiting to escape to Heaven. Jesus said we could experience the Kingdom of God—His rule and reign—here and now.
And yet, so many don’t.
Why? Ignorance.
The Kingdom Was Given, But Many Are Unaware
“The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to the children of men.” —Psalm 115:16
Just as God handed dominion to Adam in Genesis 1:26, He willed His Kingdom to us. But like someone who doesn’t know the value of their inheritance, many have unknowingly surrendered what was theirs—just as Adam and Eve handed over authority to the enemy through deception.
The enemy still uses this tactic today. Through lies, distractions, and spiritual ignorance, he tricks us out of the Kingdom benefits that rightfully belong to us.
The Buffet Metaphor: A Lesson in Awareness
The pastor shared a powerful story: attending a buffet and thinking he was only entitled to one plate, while others kept going back for more. It wasn’t until someone explained that he had unlimited access that he began to enjoy the full experience.
Too many believers are like that—attending church, singing the songs, and stopping short of fully accessing the spiritual feast God has laid before them.
The rule and reign of God is already here—but you must be conscious of it to walk in it.
What’s Keeping You Out?
Sometimes, it's not sin, but a lack of understanding. You can be in the right place (the Kingdom) but not in the right state (awareness). Just as Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3, to enter the Kingdom, you must be born again—born of water and the Spirit. It’s not enough to know about God. You must be filled with the Holy Spirit, who empowers you to walk in the Kingdom daily.
Key Takeaways
God has willed His Kingdom to us. We are meant to rule and reign on earth as He reigns in Heaven.
The enemy uses deception to keep us ignorant of our inheritance.
Ignorance blocks access—you can be present but not participating in the Kingdom.
You must be born of water and Spirit to fully walk in your Kingdom identity.
The Kingdom is now—healing, blessings, authority, and favor are available if we’re willing to believe and engage.
A Prayerful Response
The service closed with heartfelt prayer and worship, asking God to “damage our ignorance” and to “plant our feet on higher ground” in His Kingdom. That’s our challenge this week—don’t just know about the Kingdom. Live it. Own it. Walk in it.
Heaven on Earth is not a future promise—it’s a present invitation. Will you accept it?
